Custom Fitting
|
Fitting a golf club involves matching the club to your particular game style and swing but also your requirements. Not only does the club have to match your physical characteristics (including your swing) but a properly fitted golf club will have abilities specific to your needs. If you're looking for extra distance, a club with a longer, lighter, more flexible shaft will do the trick. If you're looking for accuracy, a shorter, heavier, stiffer shafted club fits the bill. The correct golf club fitting has to do with knowing your game. Don't forget, a round of golf is 18 holes - around 3.5 - 4 hours. You'll need to play clubs that work on the first and the 18th with the least possible amount of effort. If the shafts are too stiff, the effort you need to keep them under control could well tire you out a lot faster. Remember, you're building clubs for the full 18, so be realistic with your assessments. Obviously, your score card counts all the shots in a round. Not just the good ones unfortunately. For the average amateur golfer, the best set of clubs will be good at all the things we want. Distance and accuracy. Distance and accuracy is what we base our fittings on. A proper golf club fitting involves getting the best match for all the following:
Club length and lie angle is usually measured as a deviation (+/-) from standard measurements. Check our Club Length charts for the standard club length values.
Use our Golf Club Fitting Charts to see explanations about all these and how to work out the best fit for you.
